As part of the RE curriculum, Year 6 students have had an opportunity to learn about various celebrations. We discussed ways in which different religions celebrate a range of festivals and the symbols they use to represent their faith. During a series of RE lessons, we also discussed the types of foods certain religions avoid to remain faithful towards their religious beliefs.
Here are some examples of children's learning during these sessions. They worked collaboratively in groups and created mind maps which displayed celebrations across religions. Then, children chose a religion and explored its celebrations while others compared celebrations within different religions.
