Year 4 Superstars

Year 4 students have been learning about the 75th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day. This day celebrates when World War Two ended in Europe and the fighting stopped.

Children learnt about the sacrifices people have made in the past; have prepared for this event in many ways.  They have created posters and information leaflets to inform and educate people about the day and made bunting to hang outside. Some children looked through their wardrobes to see if they could wear red, white and blue on the day.

In addition, children looked at the sacrifices that are currently being made to stay safe at home and help stop the spread of the coronavirus. ‘Stay home stay safe and protect the NHS.’

In PSHCE, children have been carrying out acts of kindness and thinking about others.  They created rainbow window displays to thank everybody who are continuing to work during the Covid-19 pandemic and show their appreciation.

Some classes also made cards to thank Captain (now Colonel) Tom Moore for raising so much money for the NHS and congratulate him on his 100th birthday.
