Year 6 student organises a Food drive

Darius, a Year 6 student in Class 20, has made us proud because of his passion for helping the homeless.

“I’ll never forget when we went to the homeless shelter. When we gave in the donations, I felt so happy to see the smiles on the staff’s faces. They were so happy to see us giving food to other people. We didn’t know them before but now we’re still giving. That was a very, very proud moment for me.”

After attending a Team London Young Ambassadors workshop, Darius and his colleagues decided to take action in support of the homeless.  With the assistance of their class teacher, Ms Robbani, they held the food drive and fundraiser; all supplies and funds were given to the homeless shelter.  They reached out to their local shelter and food bank with an aim of making a positive impact.

Today, we recognise their energy, ideas and capacity to create positive change in their community.
